Event location
The congress will take place from 3 to 5 November of this year in Florianópolis. The location of the event is under negotiation, to be confirmed soon.
Florianópolis, the “Magic Island”, is the capital of Santa Catarina and one of the most attractive destinations in Brazil.
The city’s nickname does not exist without reason: it is possible to feel the magic present in every corner of the city, whether through the legends of witches and mystical beings that are part of the local culture or by the natural beauties present from north to south. Among the sights, stand out the Historic Center, the Public Market, the Hercílio Luz Bridge and beaches such as Joaquina Beach, Mole Beach and Canasvieiras Beach.
In addition to the natural landscapes, legends about witches, ghosts and werewolves are also part not only of Florianopolitano tourism, but of the history and culture of the city. The history of Lagoa do Peri e Conceição is one of the best known.
Lagoa do Peri and Lagoa da Conceição
Lagoa do Peri and Lagoa da Conceição are part of the landscape and history of Florianópolis, being very visited by tourists who want to know the beauties of the city. The name of these two ponds comes from the story of a forbidden love.
Peri was an indigenous man who fell in love with Conceição, a witch from the island. The two young people continued to meet, despite the ban established by the village of Peri and the witches companions of Conceição
Upon discovering the transgression, the witches cast a curse on Peri, turning it into a freshwater lagoon in the south of Florianópolis. Conceição, deeply sad to lose him, would have cried so much that his tears created the Lagoon of Conceição, made of salt water.
